Ann's studio is in a beautiful location in the North Wales countryside, which means she's never short of inspiration. She paints what she sees all around her every day – the countryside, the weather and light, wildlife, birds and animals - in gouache and watercolour.
Ann enjoys painting animal portraits and takes commissions for these. She likes to look beyond the features and capture the unique personality that every animal has.
She takes part in exhibitions and open studio events and also gives workshops, demonstrations, and classes. Painting can be a solitary occupation so this gives her some balance and an opportunity to talk and share her work and processes with others.
Ann's passionate about the therapeutic value of art, especially the value of creativity in improving mental health, and has been involved in several projects promoting this.
