Danielle McIntyre

Danielle McIntyre is a self-taught free-motion embroidery artist. In 2021, Danielle was selected to appear in the Visual Artists Association International Online Exhibition. She was also shortlisted in the VAA International and Emerging Artists Open. In 2022 she has also been long listed for the same award. Danielle was also a finalist in the North Wales Open 2021 at Theatr Clwyd, Mold.

She is inspired by cityscapes and landscapes and enjoys pairing monochromatic schemes with vibrant Liberty of London prints. Danielle began in this medium as a way of memorialising the places she has loved; Chester, Liverpool, North Yorkshire and North Wales. She en joys replicating others' memorable locations and animals; adding her own twist with bold lines, prints and colours. Danielle uses free motion embroidery to 'draw' with her sewing machine.

Danielle was taught to sew by her grandmother and has since run a children's clothing business. She now concentrates on producing her artwork and tutoring.

Danielle is currently exhibiting works at Telford's Warehouse, Chester and Oriel Aeron, Aberaeron. She sells her work at Seren@Betty Berkins, Holywell & Artworks2, Betws-y-Coed.

Danielle teaches free-motion embroidery and sewing machine skills at Amanda's Fabrics, Mold; Ditzy Rose, Tattenhall; & now at Abakhan, Mostyn. Danielle is a former Teacher of French and Spanish, with 15 years experience. She gave up teaching to concentrate on her family and artwork.

Danielle grew up and lives in rural North Wales with her husband, 2 children and 3 dogs. Danielle is passionate about the arts and especially finds inspiration in performing in musical theatre.
