Fy niddordeb mwyaf yw creu tirluniau ac rwy'n gweithio gyda phaent olew gan ddefnyddio techneg 'impasto' yn bennaf. Mae'r steil yma o weithio yn fy ngalluogi i ddehongli y tirwedd greigiog mynyddig a welaf ogwmpas fy nghartref yn Y Bala. Rwyf wedi fy syrfdanu gyda'r gallu sydd gan y tywydd i newid golau a lliw y tirwedd, a cheisiaf ailgreu yr awyrgylch a'r effaith yma ar y tir, hyd yn oed os yw ond yn cael ei weld am eiliadau ar y tro. Mae mynyddoedd a chreigiau Eryri, hen fythynod a hen waliau cerrig sy'n creu terfynau rhwng y caeau, yn dal fy nychymyg ac yn fy ysbrydoli i greu delweddau artistig.
I have always enjoyed portraying the wonderful landscape around my home in Bala, North Wales where I have lived for over forty years, and find that I can express this best by working in oils, mainly in an impasto style. This gives me the flexibility I need to depict the rugged landscape that I observe I am fascinated by the way the mood of the landscape changes as the weather produces differences in light and colour. My aim is to capture this mood and its affect on the surface of the land, sometimes, all be it for a fleeting moment. Natural rock formation in the mountains of Snowdonia, centuries old stone cottages and ancient stone wall boundaries on the land hold my attention and provide a spontaneous subject matter.
